This HP Pavilion is measured 14.05-inches wide, 10.12-inches deep and between 1.0 and 1.56-inches thick. Standard configurations of the dv6000 weigh 6.8 lbs. The Pavilion features an integrated touch pad with dedicated vertical scrolling.

Processor, Memory and Storage

The Pavilion dv6000 is built around an AMD Athlon 64x2 mobile processor. The processor has a clock speed of 2.0 GHz and 512KB of Level 2 cache. For memory the Pavilion dv6000 comes with 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM. For storage, the laptop has a 160GB serial ATA-150 hard drive. Additional storage was available via a 5-in-1 memory card reader. The card reader was compatible with Memory Stick, MultiMediaCard, xD-Picture Card, Secure Digital and Memory Stick Pro memory cards.

Display and Multimedia

The Pavilion dv6000 features a 15.4-inch WXGA TFT active matrix widescreen display with a native resolution of 1,280 by 800 pixels. The display included HP's BrightView technology. Graphics on the Pavilion dv6000 are handled by the NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 graphics card. An integrated audio controller paired with two stereo Altec Lansing speakers handled audio. The system also includes an 8X SuperMulti rewritable DVD drive. This model also has an integrated WebCam.

Connectivity and Expansion

The Pavilion dv6000 can access the Internet or a local area network via a 56K dial-up modem, a 10/100BASE-T Ethernet card or an 802.11b/g wireless card (wifi). Additional available connections on the Pavilion dv6000 include three USB 2.0 ports, one 15-pin VGA jack, an S-video port, one IEEE 1394 four-pin Firewire card, one infrared port, a pair of 3.5-mm headphone and audio outputs and one 3.5-mm microphone input.
